Riders (1993 Film)
''Riders'', also called ''Jilly Cooper's Riders'', is a 1993 British television film based on Jilly Cooper's 1985 book of the same name in the Rutshire Chronicles series. With a length of 199 minutes, broadcasters usually divide the production into a miniseries. Outline Rupert Campbell-Black (played by Marcus Gilbert) is a rich and upper class Englishman at the top of the world of international show jumping, while his arch-rival Jake Lovell ( Michael Praed) is a man of humble gipsy origins now funded by his Sloane Ranger heiress wife Tory ( Caroline Harker). Caroline Harker
Caroline Harker (born 1966) is an English stage and television actress, sister of actresses Nelly Harker and Susannah Harker, and daughter of actors Polly Adams and Richard Owens. She and her sisters are descended from theatrical designer Joseph Harker. She is known for her roles as Celia, in the BBC's ''Middlemarch'', and as Woman Police Constable (WPC) (later Detective Sgt.) Andrew Hall (19 January 1954 – 20 May 2019) was an English actor and theatre director. He came to national prominence at the beginning of his career playing the support role of Russell Parkinson in Carla Lane's BBC situation comedy ''Butterflies'' (1978–1983). Early life The son of James Hall, who worked in Information Technology, and Mabel (nee Jones), Andrew Hall was born in Manchester on 19 January 1954. Hall had two sisters. The family moved around the country, before settling in Guildford, Surrey where he attended the Royal Grammar School. After leaving school at 17, he gained a job at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford where he worked as a stagehand. Sir John Ronald Leon, 4th Baronet (born 16 August 1934) is an English actor and baronet who is known as John Standing. He is the stepson of John Clements. Early life Standing was born in London, the son of Kay Hammond (née Dorothy Katherine Standing), an actress, and Sir Ronald George Leon, 3rd Baronet; a stockbroker descended from Sir Herbert Leon, the builder of Bletchley Park.
